As stated in my previous update, this post is regarding something deeply personal that’s happening with my family. On my birthday, my biological father went to the ER for excruciating pain, and he was diagnosed the following day with cancer in several vital organs throughout the body. After he went to the VA, the doctors determined the type of cancer he has is Esophageal.
Most of the people in my life, and those who have been following my writing career and personal journey on A Few Beautiful Moments, know I’ve lost several family members to cancer, including my stepdad, baby brother and an early childhood friend. The news on my father’s health has been incredibly devastating to me and all our family on both sides.
If you click the picture above, or if you click here, you’ll see all the updates going on with my dad’s health, and if you can, please share the campaign, pray for our family, and keep us all in your thoughts. Also, if you are able to donate, we’d be eternally grateful. No amount is too small!
It goes without saying that all my writing, with the exception of Collide — which is dedicated to my dad — has temporarily been put on hold. Even working on that project has been a struggle for me. It’s taking every ounce of energy to keep everything I need to do in my life aligned and in order. I’ve been crying myself awake and losing a lot of sleep, and I’ve been fighting back the bitter anger and fear that’s bubbling beneath the surface.
At this time, I am not accepting any emails or DMs on social media. I cannot do much of anything more, not right now, and I hope you’ll all be understanding of this. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I hope you have a good Memorial Day weekend. I encourage all to spend time with their loved ones, as time can be cruel, and you never know when your last moment with your loved ones will be. Keep making those precious immeasurable moments, but please don’t forget this holiday’s true meaning either.
All My Love,
